Sqft Calculators offers free calculators and informational guides relating to area measurement. Everything is provided for general informational purposes.
No professional advice
Content on this site is not professional advice. Specifically, it is not:
- Surveying advice. Only a licensed surveyor can establish a legal property boundary.
- Appraisal or valuation advice. Square footage is one input among many in a property valuation.
- Engineering or construction advice. Structural, load and code questions require a qualified professional.
- HVAC design. Our sizing estimates are rules of thumb; a Manual J load calculation by a licensed contractor is the appropriate basis for equipment selection.

Accuracy
We take accuracy seriously. Formulas are implemented once in a shared module and checked against known reference values, and conversion factors use exact definitions where they exist.
Even so, results depend entirely on the accuracy of what you enter, and some figures used are trade conventions rather than physical constants — paint coverage rates, BTU-per-square-foot guidance and waste allowances all vary with real conditions. We make no warranty that results will be error-free or fit for a particular purpose.
Always verify measurements on site before committing to an order or a contract.
